Gym Session 1:

Badminton Session 1

Badminton session 2: This session was held in the main gym where there was more space for us to erect nets and have more players playing at the same time. This was beneficial as students were able to get involved and be engaged for the whole lesson.

This session had high arousal as most of the players had high levels of energy and excitement. Loud cheers could be heard when a team won and this continued throughout the duration of the period. This created a positive environment for all students and motivated us to play and try harder. A happy environment also means that people don’t feel left out and encourages those who may be struggling to learn and develop.

Personally I used self motivation to drive myself to play the game and find ways that I can improve on. This was mixed with extrinsic motivation from the boys where we played each other wanting to win. The overall drive for this assessment

I realized during the game play that sometimes I wasn’t able to move fast enough to get to the shuttlecock. This means that I am needing to work on my speed and my agility as well as being able to react fast enough for that. Next Tuesday I want to do one session playing the sport working on my hand-eye co-ordination and one session in the weights room focusing on my legs and core. By making my calves, glutes and hamstrings stronger as well as having a strong core, means that I will be move with speed and will be able to change direction quickly.
